I ran my codes my crankshaft sensor is messing my motor up. I bought the sensor and cannot find the sensor on my truck. Where is it?

Depends on engine size, but for the 5.2L and 5.9L engines the crankshaft position sensor is located at the rear of the engine block.

We need to replace the CPS on our truck and we cannot get the sensor out. The bolt is out but no matter how much we wiggle and tug the sensor will not come out. Is there something we are missing? I cannot find information anywhere on what the secret is on this engine. Help please!

There are two bolts holding it in.

V10 has 3/8 standard bolt. There is no second bolt unless it is hidden in some secret compartment.

I have only replaced a couple crank sensors on this engine, but they all had two bolts.

This photo is for the sensor for a 1993 model, but it looks the same for both years. The photo for the sensor shown for your year is too small and it does not show the shape of the plug. I just used this photo because it is easier to see.

There is only one bolt for the V10. The attached photo shows the only place for the bolt that goes into the block. The problem is this is a couple of inches long and there is about one inch of room between the CPS and the engine mount that is not allowing it to be removed do to space limitation. Unless someone knows a trick, the only thing we can figure is you have to take out the engine mount.

That looks more like a camshaft position sensor but the mounting ear is different. I looked at a number of different years for cam and crank sensors and did not see anything like what you have. I assume you cannot just rotate the ear away from the obstruction?

Now that you mention engine mounts, the crank sensors I have replaced have always been in the transmission's bell housing, right behind the right cylinder head.

The Camshaft position sensor is located on left side of timing chain cover.
The Crankshaft position sensor is located lower right side of cylinder block.

Thanks for pointing out I called it the wrong thing. My bad. I know where the part goes. I even included a picture to show I knew what part it was. Now back to my question. How to get a two inch part out with one inch of space without taking the motor out of the truck.

I called it the wrong part. My question was not about what the part was called. It was how to replace the part. I included a picture so I obviously know what the part is and where it goes.
